PROJECT: Taylors Healthcare No 2 Boiler Conversion
Converting a manually operated, coal fired boiler to an automated dual fuel gas/oil system for Taylors Dry Cleaning was a difficult challenge for Athenry Electrical as their devices and instrumentation had to fit within the confines of the old, original boiler at Taylor’s Point Chevalier operation in Auckland.
Working with Advance Boiler Services of Hamilton, Athenry successfully designed a code-compliant control system that was reliable, safe and simple to operate.
What was once an electro-mechanical boiler system designed to produce steam is now totally electronic and running on gas, with the option to burn oil still to be commissioned.
Athenry’s electrical concept, design, and installation helped boost the boiler’s efficiency from 70 to 80 percent.
The job was completed on time and within budget, and the clients are extremely happy with the results.
