Pursuant to sections 169, 169A, and 169B of the Electricity Act 1992, the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 and its amendments requires people to carry out electrical work in a safe manner. The requirements of these regulations also have relevance to the obligations of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA).
Registration or licensing as an electrical worker does not mean that an individual is competent to work in all fields of electrical work. Competency is determined by the employer.
Competence will only be tested when something goes wrong, something doesn't work, damage to plant or machinery occurs, personnel are injured or worse - someone dies
It will be at this point where a clear trail of documentation will be required in order to verify that all the correct steps have been taken.
Customers of electrical contractors have a duty to ensure the safety of their own employees. That responsibility extends to ensuring the safety of employees of the contractors employed to carry out various short or long term contracts
At Athenry Electrical Ltd we are participating in a Health and Safety Management system for Health and Safety compliance under the Act and the associated Regulations. This ensures that we have processes, procedures, practices and documentation in place to show our commitment to continuous improvement in Health and Safety and to verify our compliance.
This means that you can be assured of any possible liability being mitigated by employing one or more of our competent staff

We have adopted the "Never Say No" policy to training which provides, and is not limited to, minimum competency levels ensuring basic training. This will also endeavour to provide our target market customers site health and safety minimum requirements.
Athenry Electrical Ltd's training policy is to encourage and fund all staff to develop their own personal knowledge and expertise through individual studies of their choice within the electrical industry.
There may be other specific training requirements which we would be more than happy to accommodate where at all possible.
